Food Assistance K-12:

In addition to the several media outlets keeping a running list of these sites, the Department of Michigan Education has repurposed its Summer Food Service Program map to show sites where meals are available along with the relevant information on when they are being offered.  This is a rapidly expanding list, so be sure to check with your local school district or media for the most up to date information.   You can also direct questions to MDE at 517-241-5374 or

Auburn Hills (Avondale)

Through a partnership with Chartwells food service company, Avondale School District is offering free take home breakfast and lunch for children on Tuesday March 17 and Friday March 20. There are 2 different pick-up times. The first is between 9 and 11 am, and the second 12-1pm. The food on Tuesday will be breakfast and lunch for 3 days, and the food on Friday will be breakfast and lunch for 4 days. Food is available for children 18 and younger as well as special needs up to age 26. Pick up. There will be pickup available at all four elementary schools in the Avondale district, as well as Avondale middle school. For more information can be found HERE.

Birmingham Public Schools:

Free breakfast and lunch will be offered for free to those 18-years-old and younger starting Monday. There are three locations. A drive-thru will be available at Groves High School, located at 20500 W. 13 Mile Road in Beverly Hills, from 10 a.m. to noon. School bus pick-up style will be available from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Derby Middle School, located at 1300 Derby Road in Birmingham, and at Huntley Square Apartments, located at 31065 Huntley Square in Beverly Hills. Bloomfield Hills Schools

Bloomfield Hills Schools will begin food distribution Tuesday, March 17 in partnership with Aramark. Children do not have to be enrolled in Bloomfield Hills Schools and they encourage all community children to take advantage of the program. Kids must be under the age of 18 and under 26 for adults with disabilities. Children don’t have to be present for food pickup. Meals will be distributed for breakfast and lunch and families can take two days of meals at a time. If picking up on a Friday, families can take food for Friday and the full weekend.

Adult meals will be offered for $4 a meal.

Locations for pick up between 10 a.m. and noon:

Main Entrance of Bloomfield Hills High School - 4200 Andover Rd.

Main Entrance of East Hills Middle School - 2800 Kensington Rd.

Farmington Public Schools

Meals can be picked up at three locations throughout the district: Farmington High School (32000 Shiawassee, Farmington); North Farmington High School (32900 W. 13 Mile Road, Farmington Hills); East Middle School (25000 Middlebelt Road, Farmington Hills)

Meal pick-ups will start on Wednesday March 18, 2020 and Friday, March 20, 2020 and will occur between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The pick-up dates for the following weeks will be determined based on need.

Novi Community Schools

Beginning Tuesday, March 17 families may come to Novi High School at 24062 Taft Rd, Novi MI 48375 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The pickup location will be located near the atrium entrance off Taft Rd. Families will drive up and be provided meals based on the number of children in their household. Students do not need to be present to receive meals. More information can be found HERE.

Plymouth Canton Community Schools

Families are welcome to come pick up meals for kids on a weekly basis during the school closure period, starting on Wednesday, March 18. CONFIRMED LOCATIONS: Salem HS, Starkweather Academy, Discovery MS, Liberty MS, West MS, Eriksson Elementary TENTATIVE PICK UP TIMES: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. More information can be found HERE


High Velocity Sports in Canton (46245 Michigan Avenue) will host a drive through for free lunches beginning March 16 that is available to anyone in need from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday. The drive through is open to everyone and is not limited to Canton residents. Cars can pull up to the front door and the sack lunch or lunches will be delivered to the car. Anyone without a vehicle can visit the front office of the building to request a lunch with no questions asked. More information can be found HERE.

Waterford School District

Starting on Monday, March 16th, we will have five locations where we will offer a drive-up meal service. Students ages 18 and under will receive both breakfast and lunch when they stop by. Meals will be provided at Riverside Elementary, Mason Middle School, and the Crary Campus, St. Stephen Lutheran Church and Lifepoint Christian every Monday through Friday between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Parents should look for the balloons and the Meet Up and Eat Up signs to direct them to where the meals will be served. More information can be found HERE.
