If you have an emergency with a federal agency and require immediate assistance, please contact my district office at 734-853-3040.

If you are having an issue with a federal agency, my office is here to be your advocate. We can often help answer questions and find relevant resources such as: if you are unable to reach a federal agency, are seeking the status of your application or claim, or are seeking assistance navigating a federal agency. While we cannot guarantee a favorable outcome, we are eager to do as much as we can, when and wherever we can!

My office can:

  • Help you communicate your concerns with a federal agency
  • Request a status update on your case or application
  • Request expedited processing if agency criteria is met
  • Ask that an agency consider or reconsider your case
  • Assist you in obtaining information from a federal agency

My office cannot:

  • Force a federal agency to act in your favor
  • Force a federal agency to expedite your case
  • Influence a court decision
  • Provide legal advice
  • File an application on your behalf
  • Assist with problems not related to federal agencies such as state and local matters
  • Assist individuals outside of Michigan's 11th congressional district

In order for my office to initiate an inquiry on your behalf, the The Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a) requires that Members of Congress or their staff have written authorization before they can obtain information about an individual's case. We must have your signature to proceed with this type of request.

A digital, paperless, option may be found below under "Authorization Form." However, my district team is able to send you a physical form, if needed. If you require a physical release, please call my district team at 734-853-3040. 

Please be sure to include all pertinent information, supporting documentation and claim numbers with your authorization form.

If you require assistance with a state agency, you may wish to contact your representative within the Michigan State Legislature.
