“This is government at work!”

Ms. Lorie Spear of Waterford contacted my office because she was having difficulty reinstating her Medicare coverage in light of a clerical error at the Social Security Administration (SSA). Despite reaching out to the SSA on multiple occasions to remedy this issue, she had no success. Due to the lapse in her Medicare coverage, she had been unable to see her doctor for follow-up visits and was paying for her prescriptions out-of-pocket.

My office immediately reached out to the SSA to get Lorie’s Medicare coverage reinstated as soon as possible.

“Within a week, I received a letter from the Social Security Administration informing me that my Medicare coverage was being reinstated in response to Congresswoman Stevens’ request,” said Ms. Spear. “I am very grateful to Congresswoman Stevens and her staff. And I want everyone to know this assistance is available. I believe this is government at work!”
