“She will move heaven and earth to help.”
My office was able to help a Korean War veteran and resident of Michigan’s 11th Congressional District secure compensation from the VA for his service-related disabilities. The following is a statement from the veteran’s attorney:
“I represented one of Congresswoman Stevens’ constituents, a Korean War veteran, in proceedings before the VA to obtain compensation for his service-related disabilities. After we won a ruling in the Board of Veterans’ Appeals requiring the Director of Compensation to consider my client’s claim for further compensation, the VA mistakenly closed the file and failed to take any further action. So we asked Rep. Stevens for help, and her staff was able to successfully investigate the problem, cut the red tape, and help my client to get the additional compensation he was entitled to for his service. My client is in his 80s now, and Rep. Stevens changed his life. So if you are a veteran with problems with the VA that you and/or your lawyer can’t resolve on your own, you should contact Rep. Stevens. I know she will move heaven and earth to help one of her fellow Michiganders.”
