ICYMI: Stevens Calls Out Trump’s Shutdown and Demands Vote to Protect Health Care and Lower Costs
Washington D.C. – Yesterday, on Bloomberg’s Balance of Power, Haley Stevens slammed the Trump administration's reckless government shutdown and demanded action to extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax subsidies to protect health care for millions of Americans and lower costs.
Congresswoman Stevens also pointed to her own legislative work — like her No Tariffs on Groceries Act — as proof that she is focused on cutting costs for working families while Trump’s chaotic tariff policies keep driving them up.
Bloomberg: Democrats Point to Election Wins in Obamacare
We are in a crisis already. People are losing their health care coverage. These are real headlines in Michigan, in the middle of an affordability cost of living crisis and the President has been nowhere to be found.
Frankly, it's a reminder about who's addressing these cost issues. I've got a bill to lower the cost of food. It's called No Tariffs on Groceries Act. People are putting that grocery bill on a credit card and paying it off on interest.
We've got to do everything we can to address this cost of living affordability nightmare for the American people and for my Michiganders.
I bring the voice and the need of Michiganders forward and what is going to strengthen and grow our economy. And I'll tell you right now, that is not something that we are getting from the Trump administration.
