April 22: Delphi Technologies/Rivian

June 4, 2019
Manufacturing Mondays

On Earth Day, I visited two manufacturing businesses focused on the future of sustainable manufacturing.

First up was Delphi Technologies which specializes in remanufacturing. Remanufacturing is the process by which used products are returned to good-as-new (or better) condition. The International Trade Commission estimates that remanufacturing has already added more than 180,000 jobs in the U.S., with an enormous potential for growth. In addition to creating jobs and economic growth, remanufacturing reduces the strain of industrial processes on the environment and lowers the cost of production for manufacturers.

Next I went to Rivian, an automaker in Plymouth. Rivian is helping bring innovation & entrepreneurship to Michigan's 11th Distrcit, with some of the most exciting developments in mobility that we've seen in a while. Rivian is poised to lead the future of EV/AV tech, and I was so grateful to spend time with them at their headquarters.
