AUDIO: Stevens Hosts Telephone Town Hall on COVID-19, Unemployment Benefits
More than 4,500 people joined Rep. Stevens’ third telephone town hall focused on the coronavirus pandemic.
WASHINGTON, DC – On Monday evening, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) led a telephone town hall to discuss the response to the coronavirus pandemic, her third telephone town hall event focused on COVID-19 this month. Kimberly Berry, the Deputy Director of the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency, joined Congresswoman Stevens to answer questions about the resources available to unemployed workers in Michigan. More than 4,500 people participated in the telephone town hall.
Congresswoman Stevens fielded questions on eligibility for unemployment benefits and direct stimulus payments, safety precautions for grocery store employees and other essential workers, pension reform, election security, helping children cope with trauma related to the COVID-19 pandemic, applying for Small Business Administration loan programs, and more.
