About Future Forum:
Established in 2015, Future Forum is a generational caucus comprised of 47 members from a diverse cross section of the Democratic Caucus who are 50 years and younger. Future Forum represents the next generation of leaders in Congress and includes members of all ideological and identify caucuses in the House, members of the Democratic leadership, and the first Gen Z Member of Congress.
Mission:
Future Forum focuses on amplifying the voices of younger Americans on issues important to the next generation while seeking to inspire future leaders to become involved in public service. Throughout the 118th Congress, the Future Forum leadership looks forward to engaging with a wide array of stakeholders and advocates on and off the Hill to further advance a policy mission focused on critical issues like gun violence, climate change, student loan debt, and the future of work. Since its inception, Future Forum has visited more than 50 cities to engage with millennial and Gen Z Americans where they live, work, and go to school, and we’re just getting started.
Leadership Structure:
For the 118th Congress, Future Forum implemented a co-chair model that will allow the co-chairs to further grow the mission and reach of Future Forum by leveraging their unique abilities while working collaboratively toward the organization's common goals.
“I am so honored to serve as the Future Forum Co-Chair for Administration and Membership next Congress as a voice for young people”, said Rep. Stevens (D-MI). “I can’t wait to work alongside co-chairs Rep. Allred and Rep. Soto to tackle critical issues that are so important to young people like paid family leave, lowering the cost of education, gun violence prevention, and protecting our environment. As young Americans ourselves, we understand the urgent need for action and our sleeves are rolled up!”
"Young people need a seat at the table in Congress, and I'm proud to be elected as Future Forum's Co-Chair for Communications to do just that," said Congressman Allred (D-TX). "I look forward to continuing to work alongside Congressman Soto and Congresswoman Stevens and all my colleagues in the Future Forum to lift up the voices of the next generation and deliver on the issues they care about."
“It is an honor to be elected as Co-Chair of Policy for Future Forum in the 118th Congress. I’m incredibly proud of our progress to include young Americans in important conversations and look forward to continuing this important work. I am also excited to work with Reps. Allred and Stevens to take our caucus to the next level by collaborating on innovative ideas for our youth,” said Congressman Soto (D-FL).
