WASHINGTON, D.C. – ICYMI: Yesterday, Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens announced she is drafting articles of impeachment against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. She pointed to Kennedy’s reckless cuts to medical research, vaccine access, and skyrocketing health care costs under his tenure.
Stevens declared, “Secretary Kennedy has violated his oath of office and proven himself unfit to serve the American people. Congress must act to hold him accountable, and I intend to lead the charge to remove him from office.”
The announcement sparked headlines across Michigan and the country, as concerns mount over Secretary Kennedy’s disastrous leadership and disregard for science-based policy.

She and other Democrats called for Kennedy's removal.
This comes as Kennedy is under scrutiny on his federal health policies.

It comes amid a growing turmoil at the CDC including the ouster of the previous director just one month into the job and controversy over Kennedy's staffing choices.
RFK Jr. faced tough questions on his health care agenda during a Senate hearing earlier this month.
Now Stevens says his promotion of unfounded claims including that Tylenol may cause autism is putting lives at risk.
She wrote in a statement that he is, quote, making our country less safe and making health care less affordable and accessible for Michiganders, and that we need leaders who put science over chaos, facts over lies and people over politics.

U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens… says she plans to introduce articles of impeachment against RFK Jr. in response to what she calls his reckless and dangerous efforts to promote unproven claims, and jeopardize public health.
Stevens said, in a statement: “RFK Jr. is making our country less safe and making healthcare less affordable and accessible for Michiganders. His contempt for science, the constant spreading of conspiracy theories, and his complete disregard for the thousands of research hours spent by America’s top doctors and experts is unprecedented, reckless, and dangerous.
“Enough is enough – we need leaders who put science over chaos, facts over lies, and people over politics, which is why I am announcing today that I have begun drafting articles of impeachment against Secretary Kennedy."

In Washington, a Michigan lawmaker is moving to impeach Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr. She's accusing him of making America less safe when it comes to health.
Representative Haley Stevens represents the 11th district just north of Detroit. She says that Kennedy has contempt for science, spreads conspiracy theories, and ignores findings from major health experts.
Kennedy's team says he's focused on the department's work and not partisan political stunts. This of course, coming on the heels of the White House advising pregnant women not to take Tylenol and linking it to autism.

A Michigan congresswoman announced Thursday she would file articles of impeachment against U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Birmingham Democrat Haley Stevens, representing the state's 11th Congressional District northwest of Detroit, argued that Kennedy has violated his oath of office and "proven himself unfit to serve the American people."
“RFK Jr. is making our country less safe and making healthcare less affordable and accessible for Michiganders," Stevens said in a statement announcing her intention.
"His contempt for science, the constant spreading of conspiracy theories, and his complete disregard for the thousands of research hours spent by America’s top doctors and experts is unprecedented, reckless, and dangerous."
Her office alleged the secretary has engaged in efforts to jeopardize public health, increase the cost of healthcare and cut critical medical research.
Stevens also accused him of not keeping promises made during his confirmation hearing, and failing to carry out statutory HHS duties.
Stevens had recently called for Kennedy's resignation, following deep controversy under HHS's umbrella.

Stevens adds Kennedy has suggested eliminating entire Food and Drug Administration departments, fired every member of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s vaccine expert panel, and ended public comment for HHS rulemaking.
