LAST NIGHT Nearly 500 Americans Joined Rep. Haley Stevens for a Telephone Town Hall to Discuss Her Taxpayer Data Protection Act and What She’s Doing to Hold Elon Musk Accountable

February 14, 2025

Washington, D.C. – Last night, U.S. Representative Haley Stevens (D-MI) hosted a telephone town hall with nearly 500 callers to discuss with constituents how she’s pushing back against Elon Musk’s hostile takeover of Washington. She took questions from constituents about their concerns and discussed her Taxpayer Data Protection Act, which would prevent unauthorized individuals, like Elon Musk, from accessing Americans’ most sensitive personal and business information in the U.S. Treasury’s payment systems.

“I am not going to compromise at the expense of values, and I am not going to compromise when rights are being railroaded and when flagrant disregard to our Constitution is taking place,” said Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) on the call. “Because we're in this together and I am sleeves rolled…and I'm ready to stand up for all of us in the nation's capital.”
