Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens on the Republican Shutdown

WASHINGTON, DC – Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens released the following statement on the Republicans’ government shutdown:

“My focus is, and always will be, on Michigan. What I hear every single day in Michigan is that families are stretched thin: groceries cost more, gas costs more, and health care costs more. And let's be clear: a big reason costs are higher today is because of reckless policies from the Trump administration that stack the deck for big corporations and billionaires while leaving working families behind. 

“My fight is to make sure Republicans reverse their proposed Medicaid cuts and ensure health care is affordable for working families in Michigan. I'm not interested in political games or distractions, I'm interested in results: lowering costs, protecting jobs, and delivering for Michigan.”
