Rep. Haley Stevens Celebrates House Passage of Bill to Fix GOP Health Care Crisis & Lower Costs for Michiganders

January 8, 2026

Washington, D.C. – Today, in response to House passage of the bill to restore the Affordable Care Act health care subsidies, Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens released the following statement:

“Today, the House took a big step to protect Michigan families from rising health care costs. I proudly voted yes to extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies that make coverage more accessible for tens of thousands of Michiganders who rely on it every month. I’ll keep fighting to lower health care costs and make sure no one is priced out of the care they need.”

In a new video released earlier today, Stevens called out Republicans for unnecessarily raising health care costs on tens of thousands of Michiganders.

Congresswoman Stevens made it clear: if Republicans cared about making life more affordable for Michigan families, they should’ve all voted yes.

Key Excerpts:

  • I fought tooth and nail last year to stop this from happening, but Republicans wouldn’t budge. They wanted your costs to go up.
  • If Republicans care about making life more affordable for Michigan families, it’s time for them to vote yes.
  • I’ll keep fighting to lower costs for Michiganders and make health care accessible for everyone in our state.
