Rep. Stevens Applauds Passage of the For the People Act

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) celebrated the passage of H.R. 1, The For the People Act, an historic reform package to restore the promise of our nation’s democracy, end the culture of corruption in Washington, and reduce the role of money in politics to return the power back to the American people. The bill passed the House of Representatives on Friday morning.

“The For The People Act will revitalize our democracy by stopping the dominant influence of big money in politics, expanding voting rights, and strengthening ethics laws to combat the culture of corruption in Washington,” said Congresswoman Haley Stevens. “A strong democracy is not a partisan issue. This bill will ensure that every Michigander has a say in our political system, which will go a long way toward restoring faith and trust in government.”
