Rep. Stevens Assigned to Two Education & Labor Subcommittees
WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) made the following statement after being assigned to two subcommittees within the House Committee on Education & Labor: the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions (HELP), and the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the HELP Subcommittee and the Workforce Protections Subcommittee within the House Committee on Education & Labor,” said Congresswoman Haley Stevens. “Through my work on these subcommittees, I look forward to standing up for Michigan’s best-in-class workforce and ensuring that the hardworking people of the 11th District are treated fairly, paid a living wage, and receive the pensions they earned.”
The HELP Subcommittee works on matters dealing with relationships between employers and employees, and employment-related health and retirement security, including but not limited to pension, health, other employee benefits.
The Workforce Protections Subcommittee works on matters dealing with wages and hours of workers, workers’ compensation, workers’ safety and health, and trade, international labor rights, and immigration issues as they affect employers and workers.
