Rep. Stevens Introduces Resolution Honoring Ferndale Pride
WASHINGTON, D.C. –– This week, Congresswoman Haley Stevens introduced a resolution recognizing Ferndale, Michigan, for its decades-long commitment to advancing the rights and wellbeing of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The resolution highlights Ferndale’s deep-rooted history as one of Michigan’s most influential LGBTQIA+ hubs, from the establishment of the Affirmations community center to hosting Ferndale Pride, one of the largest Pride celebrations in the state. It honors the city’s social, cultural, and economic contributions.
“Ferndale is a beacon of progress and resilience for so many LGBTQIA+ Michiganders,” said Congresswoman Stevens. “I’m so thrilled to be introducing this resolution to celebrate the decades of progress and pride in Ferndale, and could not be more excited to celebrate pride with them this weekend.”
The 15th Annual Ferndale Pride Festival will take place on May 31, 2025, continuing their tradition of celebration and advocacy.
