Rep. Stevens Invites Middle School Science Teacher to State of the Union
WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) made the following statement after inviting educator Jean Buller of Commerce Township, Michigan, to join her for next week’s State of the Union address.
“As a new member of the Education & Labor Committee and the Science, Space & Technology Committee, I am excited to prioritize STEM education and ensure that science teachers like Mrs. Buller have the support and resources they need to provide a quality education for their students,” said Congresswoman Stevens. “Just this week, I was proud to co-sponsor the Rebuild America’s Schools Act, a proposal to invest more than $100 billion in America’s public schools.”
Jean Buller is a recently retired educator from Commerce Township, Michigan. Mrs. Buller taught science to 4th, 6th and 7th grade students for 30 years in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District. Mrs. Buller is an award-winning teacher whose enthusiasm and creativity in the classroom has inspired thousands of students over the course of her career. Mrs. Buller is passionate about serving the next generation of teachers and students particularly through fundraising and scholarship initiatives, and she continues to provide support to Walled Lake and the Oakland County education community.
