Rep. Stevens Named 'Future of Work' Task Force Co-Chair
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens was named Co-Chair of the New Democrat Coalition Future of Work Task Force. The Future of Work Task Force will continue to focus on the economic and human aspects of the Future of Work, including creating a 21st century social contract, reimagining and modernizing education, training, and access to opportunity, and empowering workers in an age of declining worker power.
“I am so honored to lead the Future of Work Task Force,” said Congresswoman Stevens. “Before I ran for Congress, I worked in a manufacturing research lab focused on the future of work in the digital age. In Michigan, we have the opportunity to lead the future as we prioritize the value of human work and the role the technical workforce plays in our economy.
Last Congress, the Future of Work task force convened forums on Capitol Hill to discuss the challenges that workers across America face today. The multiple forums and meetings with companies, labor unions, local organizations, and thought leaders have helped create the Coalition’s policy solutions to address the opportunities and challenges related to the evolving nature of work in the changing economy.
