Rep. Stevens Statement on President Trump’s State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) made the following statement after President Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday evening.

“I was encouraged by the President’s comments on investing in our infrastructure and reducing the cost of prescription drugs.  Now I hope this Administration will step back and allow Congress to come to an agreement to fund the government, so we can move on and begin addressing these critical issues,” said Congresswoman Haley Stevens. “We have heard the President’s argument on illegal immigration, and we agree on the importance of securing our borders.  What we need is real bipartisan compromise and I am eager to work with my Democratic and Republican colleagues to make our immigration system safer and fairer.”
