Reps. Stevens and Joyce to Serve as Co-Chairs of the House Manufacturing Caucus

March 24, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Reps. Haley Stevens (MI-11) and David Joyce (OH-14) announced they will serve as the new co-chairs of the bipartisan House Manufacturing Caucus. Reps. Stevens and Joyce succeed former Reps. Tim Ryan (OH-13) and Tom Reed (NY-23), who co-chaired the Caucus for the 117th Congress.

“When Congressman Ryan asked if I would take over as the Democratic Chair for the House Manufacturing Caucus, I was an immediate and enthusiastic yes,” said Congresswoman Stevens. “As the representative of the largest concentration of automotive suppliers in the country, my top priority has always been ensuring their success. The past two years have been historic for American manufacturing. We have created over 800,000 new manufacturing jobs, and with the CHIPS and Science Act, we are ensuring that ‘Made in America’ is more than just a slogan. I look forward to working alongside my co-chair and fellow Midwesterner, Rep. David Joyce, to identify more bipartisan opportunities to advance the resurgence of American manufacturing.”

“I am honored to join Congresswoman Stevens as Co-Chair of the House Manufacturing Caucus to help educate and amplify the voices of U.S. manufacturers in Congress,” said Congressman Joyce“The manufacturing industry plays an integral role in Ohio’s economy, especially Northeast Ohio. Manufacturing is Ohio’s largest economic sector, employing nearly 700,000 Ohioans across the state and exporting $51 billion in products. I look forward to working with this caucus to support U.S. manufacturers and to help ensure Ohio, and our nation, remains at the forefront of the industry.”

Founded in 2003, the House Manufacturing Caucus hosts briefings and roundtable discussions with industry leaders, government officials, and academic experts, and acts as a resource for Members and their staff to learn more about the opportunities and challenges facing America’s manufacturing sectors. The Caucus also aims to provide Members with information to help constituents and spur job creation in manufacturing and associated industries.
