Stevens Announces Winners of 11th District Congressional Art Competition

LIVONIA, MI – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) announced the winners of the 11th Congressional District high school art competition, an annual opportunity to recognize and encourage young artists in Michigan’s 1tth District. Submissions were evaluated by a panel of local high school art teachers.

First place was awarded to Hillary Luan, from Northville, for her piece titled “Saturday Night” which will be hung on display in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside winners from other Congressional Districts.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Olivia Lalko of Troy for “Coexistence” and Angela Li of Troy for “Generation of the Future.” Olivia and Angela’s work will be displayed in Congresswoman Stevens’ Washington, D.C. office.

“I am so proud of the incredible artists who submitted their work for this year’s 11th Congressional District high school art competition,” said Congresswoman Stevens. “We received so many beautiful, inspiring, and thought-provoking submissions from all over the district. Michigan is lucky to have such a talented community of young artists, and I can’t wait to see what they create next.”
