WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) voted to pass H.R. 4863, a bill to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, increase its financing capacity, and reform and rename the agency. As the official U.S. export credit agency, the Export-Import Bank provides support to exporters and foreign purchasers of U.S. goods and services through direct loans, guarantees, and insurance. The bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support.

WASHINGTON – Today, the House Education and Labor Committee advanced H.R. 4674, the College Affordability Act – a long overdue update to our nation’s higher education laws that ensures students can spend less and earn more. The legislation lowers the cost of college, improves the quality of higher education by holding institutions accountable, and expands opportunity for students from all backgrounds.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.Res. 296, a bipartisan resolution to recognize and memorialize the Armenian Genocide. The resolution states the historic facts of the Ottoman Empire’s genocidal campaign against the Armenian people, as well as the Greeks, Assyrians, Chaldeans, Syriacs, and other religious and ethnic minorities, from 1915 to 1923, rejects efforts to enlist the United States in the denial of genocide, and encourages education about the Armenian Genocide so that history never repeats itself.

NOVI, MI – On Sunday, October 27th, Congresswoman Haley Stevens hosted a Vietnam War Commemoration Ceremony in Novi honoring eight Vietnam Era veterans from Michigan’s 11th District. During the ceremony, Congresswoman Stevens presented veterans with a lapel pin from the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration. The ceremony took place at the Novi Public Library.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S House of Representatives passed bipartisan legislation to reauthorize the Older Americans Act, preserving funding for state and local programs to ensure our nation’s older adults have access to food, transportation, and other basic services they need to live independently and with dignity. H.R. 4334, the Dignity in Aging Act, passed unanimously in the U.S. House of Representatives.
