Casework Success Stories

“I am a veteran and was stationed at Camp Lejune during the time Marines were drinking, swimming and showering in toxic water. I needed information on where on base I was housed in order to determine my level of exposure. I needed my military records for this information. The Department of Defense (DOD) acknowledged receipt of my request in February 2020 and by September 2023 my request was still listed as ‘received.’ I contacted Representative Stevens’ office in October 2023. Her staff contacted me and processed my request to the DOD. Within one month, I had my records in hand.

"Unions didn’t just build the middle class. Unions didn’t just sustain the middle class. Unions are the middle class. I saw what UAW members sacrificed to keep the Big Three in business while serving in the U.S. Auto Rescue. Automakers recovered to make record profits, but workers’ wages are still stagnant. Casework Success Stories

“Social Security terminated my Medicare insurance and I was unable to convince them to turn it back on even after they admitted it was a clerical issue. I am a former cancer patient with multiple health issues – requiring multiple surgeries and appointments. No one would see me without my Medicare. After two months of futile attempts to solve [this matter] on my own, I contacted Haley Stevens’ office. The caseworker was kind, patient and understanding. They were able to get to the root of the problem and have my insurance reinstated. I am so grateful for their assistance.
