It was fantastic to visit Bosch’s North America Headquarters in Farmington Hills for today’s Manufacturing Monday! We discussed their software focused registered apprenticeship program and their work and research into hydrogen and its applications.
For today’s Manufacturing Monday, I had an inspiring visit to Novelis, an aluminum stamping and rolling R&D center in Novi. They’re leaders in producing aluminum components for aerospace & autos and they are moving our circular economy forward!
This week’s Manufacturing Monday (which was actually on Tuesday!) featured AkzoNobel’s Research and Development facility in Troy. This facility develops innovative paints and coatings for all different types of applications! I visited the lab to see how new paints and coatings make it to market.
Today I visited Progressive Metal Manufacturing in Ferndale, a woman owned business that supplies short run metal fabrications to a variety of industries. It was a great opportunity to discuss issues facing small businesses, such as the importance of research & development tax credits that allow for companies to reinvest into their business and employees.
Today I visited Quantron in Auburn Hills to learn more about their work developing a hydrogen fuel cell semi-truck. Michigan's 11th district is on the cutting edge of developing the technologies of the future!
I was thrilled to visit Eaton Steel in Oak Park. We talked about the incredible work Michigan manufacturers are doing, how Congress can strengthen our supply chains, and the work I'm doing in Washington to help businesses in MI11 thrive. Thanks for having me!
