WASHINGTON, D.C. ––  This week, Congresswoman Haley Stevens introduced a resolution recognizing Ferndale, Michigan, for its decades-long commitment to advancing the rights and wellbeing of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The resolution highlights Ferndale’s deep-rooted history as one of Michigan’s most influential LGBTQIA+ hubs, from the establishment of the Affirmations community center to hosting Ferndale Pride, one of the largest Pride celebrations in the state. It honors the city’s social, cultural, and economic contributions.

Washington, D.C. – Last week, the Zox HOA won a designation from the state of Michigan to become a village, the first new village incorporated in the state of Michigan in 27 years. HOA leaders worked closely with Congresswoman Stevens to achieve this innovative solution and navigate the designation process, so the Michigan families in the village would be better able to manage their community. The new village’s placeholder name is the Village of Lakeside Park.

Birmingham, MI – U.S. Representative Haley Stevens (D-MI) was recognized by the Center for Effective Lawmaking as the most effective Michigan Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives for the 118th Congress. 

According to the analysis published in the Lansing State Journal, “Stevens was a sponsor on 26 pieces of significant or substantial legislation” and was the most effective Member of Congress “on science and technology issues.
