WASHINGTON, DC — As Michiganders face both the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting severe economic downturn, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) voted to pass the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Enhancement Act, a legislative package that will provide much needed relief by making health care and prescription drugs more affordable. LIVONIA, MI — Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) announced that her casework operation has returned more than $1.4 million to the people of Michigan’s 11th District since taking office. Congresswoman Stevens and her staff have relentlessly advocated for hundreds of constituents who were facing obstacles in obtaining their earned Social Security benefits, veteran and active military pay, federal tax returns, and more.
LIVONIA, MI – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) received the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The award is given annually to Members of Congress based on their bipartisan leadership and support for pro-growth policies.
Dr. Martha Sturgeon of Auburn Hills contacted my office because she was having trouble resolving a problem with the Social Security Administration.
Andrea Feller of Novi contacted my office because she was having trouble getting her passport renewed.
My office was able to help Andrea get her new passport within one week.
Mr. Brendan Whitley of South Lyon, an Army veteran, contacted my office because he was having problems securing payment owed to him by the United States Army.
My office was able to help Mr. Whitley recover the payment he was owed for his service to our country.
Mr. Ganesh Hariharan, of Troy, was having trouble obtaining a work authorization from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
My office was able to help Mr. Hariharan expedite his work authorization, allowing him and his family to stay in the country.
Ms. Lorie Spear of Waterford contacted my office because she was having difficulty reinstating her Medicare coverage in light of a clerical error at the Social Security Administration (SSA). Despite reaching out to the SSA on multiple occasions to remedy this issue, she had no success. Due to the lapse in her Medicare coverage, she had been unable to see her doctor for follow-up visits and was paying for her prescriptions out-of-pocket.
My office immediately reached out to the SSA to get Lorie’s Medicare coverage reinstated as soon as possible.
LIVONIA, MI – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) announced the winners of the 11th Congressional District high school art competition, an annual opportunity to recognize and encourage young artists in Michigan’s 1tth District. Submissions were evaluated by a panel of local high school art teachers.
Janice H. Hija and Stephen J. Hija, of Plymouth, contacted my office because they had not received their tax refund after four months of waiting and asking the IRS for assistance.
My office was able to help Janice and Stephen recover their IRS refund within two weeks of contacting us.
