WASHINGTON—After deadly mass shootings in Texas and Ohio over the weekend, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) joined several of her colleagues on the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force to send a letter urging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to immediately call the Senate back into session to vote on two gun safety bills the House passed earlier this year.

On July 29th, I visited MTU America in Canton which employs over 200 people at their facility in Michigan's 11th District! They manufacture and maintain diesel engines. It was great to learn more about this essential player in Michigan's auto industry.

WASHINGTON – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1665, the Building Blocks of STEM Act, a bipartisan bill led by Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11), the Chairwoman of the House Science Subcommittee on Research and Technology. The Building Blocks of STEM Act is the first bill Rep. Stevens introduced as a Member of Congress, and it is Rep. Stevens’ first bill to pass the House of Representatives.

Manufacturing Mondays

For today's Manufacturing Monday, I visited Toyoda Gosei which employs over 350 people in Michigan's 11th District. We had a very substantive conversation about what they need to thrive: consistency, a vision for the future, and sound and fair trade policies. They are doing R&D and supplying incredible product throughout the auto industry. Let's make Washington work for the movers of our economy: our people.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) made the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 582, the Raise the Wage Act. Congresswoman Stevens cosponsored the Raise the Wage Act, which would gradually increase the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2024, and voted to advance the bill through the House Committee on Education and Labor.
