Washington, D.C. – Wednesday, U.S. Representative Haley Stevens (D-MI) introduced the Thyroid Disease CARE Act and hosted a press conference on the House steps to raise awareness about the disparities in the research and treatment of thyroid disorders which disproportionately affect women.

“Congresswoman Stevens and her staff helped address clerical errors made by my student loan servicer in my pursuit of Public Service Loan Forgiveness. After failing to correct errors in counting my payments made toward loan forgiveness, Congresswoman Stevens brought the issue directly to the attention of the Department of Education. Her staff maintained communication with me and let me know that [an inquiry] had been sent on my behalf and my case was given the attention it deserved.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Haley Stevens (D-MI) introduced the First Time Homeowner Savings Plan Act in the U.S. House of Representatives. This bill increases the amount of money individuals may withdraw from their IRA to use to purchase their first home from $10,000 to $25,000 making it easier to gain the first step on the property ladder while continuing to build their wealth and securing a safe place to live.
