Washington, DC– Today, Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11), a Member of the Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus, celebrates the passage of H.R. 8404, the Respect for Marriage Act. The Respect for Marriage Act repeals the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act, protects marriage equality for federal purposes, and provides additional protections at the state level.

Washington — For the second time this year, the family of Michigan's Paul Whelan was left "devastated" that Russia agreed to swap an American prisoner for the return of a Russian inmate, and that, again, that American wasn't Paul.

(Washington, DC)—Today, Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Research and Technology, Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI), led a visit to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Chairwoman Stevens was joined by Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY). The Members toured several NIST facilities and discussed ongoing research with NIST staff including robotics, neutron research, and trace explosive detection.

Washington, DC– Today, Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) and Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) passed legislation to rename the newly opened VA community based outpatient clinic in Canton after Major General Oliver W. Dillard, the first black officer to graduate from the National War College. On May 26th, Reps. Stevens and Dingell toured the clinic alongside Major General Dillard’s family.
