A strong India means a strong US, three influential American lawmakers have said, as they pledged to work towards strengthening the relationship between the two largest democratic countries of the world at a time when the world was facing many challenges.

Their comments came at a reception hosted by the Indian Embassy on Tuesday for the visiting Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh.

The proposed disclosure forms for federal research and development award applications are another positive step to protect U.S. research from undue foreign influence. The research community plays a critical role in shaping our approach to address research security risks and I commend the NSTC for seeking public input on these draft forms. As the risk landscape continues to evolve, so too should our capacity to respond.

Washington — President Joe Biden on Tuesday signed a $280 billion bipartisan bill to boost domestic high-tech manufacturing, part of his administration’s push to boost U.S. competitiveness over China.

The ceremony on the South Lawn on Tuesday included several Democratic Michigan policymakers, including U.S. Reps. Debbie Dingell of Ann Arbor, Haley Stevens of Waterford Township and Brenda Lawrence of Southfield.
