LIVONIA, MI — Yesterday, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) hosted a virtual roundtable on Facebook Live to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic, the Affordable Care Act, and issues facing older Americans. Congresswoman Stevens was joined by an expert panel including former AARP National President Eric Schneidewind, University of Michigan Chief Health Officer Dr. Preeti Malani, and Michigan patient advocate Sarah Stark. The discussion was be moderated by Dianne Byrum, State Director of Protect Our Care Michigan.

Stevens then presented the board with a Congressional Flag, which had been flown over the U.S. Capitol. “I flew this flag in honor of White Lake,” she said. “Normally this presentation would more ceremonial, but it is still a recognition to the board’s leadership, which takes the needs of the community very seriously, are fiscally responsible, and are growing as a result. It’s absolutely magnificent.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) released the following statement after voting to pass the Delivering for America Act, legislation to prohibit the United States Postal Service (USPS) from implementing changes to levels of service and to provide critical funding for continued postal operations. The legislation also provides $25 billion in critically-needed emergency appropriations for the Postal Service, the level of funding recommended by the USPS Board of Governors

Michael Kelly has finally been formally recognized for his sacrifice during the conflict, 45 years after the Vietnam War ended.

Congresswoman Haley Stevens (D-MI-11) held a virtual ceremony for Kelly, a Northville resident, last week to present him with a commemorative lapel pin acknowledging his service. 

Kelly served as a sergeant for two years in the United States Army. His father and father-in-law were both veterans, as well.
