Michelle Hua of Troy won the competition for “Coach AI,” a smart fitness app that uses artificial intelligence-based human pose detection and recognition to provide real-time coaching for users while they exercise.

WASHINGTON – This week, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) joined a bipartisan effort to restore the deductibility of forgiven Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) expenses.

The Paycheck Protection Program was created as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help businesses survive the COVID-19 pandemic. However, a regulatory decision issued by the IRS earlier this year means businesses will not be able to deduct forgiven PPP expenses, effectively imposing a surprise tax increase on struggling small businesses.

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) voted to pass the National Apprenticeship Act of 2020, a bill to create nearly 1 million new apprenticeship opportunities by investing in the expansion of Registered Apprenticeships, youth apprenticeships, and pre-apprenticeships. Congresswoman Stevens, a co-sponsor of the National Apprenticeship Act, helped advance the bill through the Education and Labor Committee earlier this year.
