Manufacturing Mondays
This afternoon, I visited Witzenmann in Troy for #ManufacturingMonday. They’re hiring, completely diversified between the automotive and aerospace sectors, plus they’ve been innovating since the 1850s and have a ton of proprietary machines and equipment.
Today, I visited Oxus in Auburn Hills for #ManufacturingMonday. It was great to chat about their work in the medical device manufacturing field & exciting to hear they’ve created 60 new jobs in the past 18 months. (It’s also nice to see people’s faces now that we’re vaccinated!)
Today, I visited Midwest Glass Fabricators for #ManufacturingMonday. We talked about how we can build a stronger workforce infrastructure in Michigan and across the country. I’m so impressed by the work they’re doing here and look forward to continue having these important conversations.
For yesterday’s #ManufacturingMonday, I visited AME Companies in Auburn Hills. We talked about their work in the automotive, government, and industrial sector. I'm so impressed at the expansive scope of work this small business is doing. Keep it up!
For today’s #ManufacturingMonday, I visited ACME in Auburn Hills, a company in its fourth generation & second pandemic. It was illuminating to speak with them about how they’re handling COVID-19 & what they’re hearing from customers in the auto, aerospace & medical sectors.
Today, I visited Schoolcraft for #ManufacturingMonday. We talked about their amazing apprenticeship programs & I got to tour their new manufacturing & engineering center. It’s absolutely thrilling to see our community colleges thriving & preparing the next generation of workers!
One of the best parts about my #ManufacturingMonday initiative is seeing the immense innovation & manufacturing happening right here in our district. Today, I visited Noble Gas Systems in Novi to talk about their gas storage systems & speciality of hydrogen fuel cells.
Today for #ManufacturingMonday, I visited Soulbrain in Northville. We spoke about powering electric vehicles. I’m excited to see what they’re working on and looking forward to the way they’ll help shape our growing regional EV economy.
Yesterday, I met with ZF for #ManufacturingMonday. We spoke about their advanced vehicle technology development, workforce needs, and COVID-19 response as an auto supplier. I’m excited by what they’re working on and admire their role as leaders in the field.
For yesterday’s #ManufacturingMonday, I visited Electric Last Mile Solutions. We discussed electric vehicle manufacturing and the need to focus on infrastructure innovation to accommodate electric charging stations. I’m also excited about their move to Troy, MI!
