Captain Smith (name changed for privacy) of Commerce Township contacted my office because he was having difficulty receiving his retirement pay from the United States Navy after nearly 30 years of service — both active duty and reserve. Despite being eligible for his retirement benefits on his 60th birthday, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) did not receive his records until 10 months after his eligibility date. By the time he contacted my office in October, it had been over a year since his eligibility date and he had yet to receive the retirement payments he was due.

WASHINGTON— On Thursday, Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11) submitted written testimony to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis to outline several of her environmental priorities as the Select Committee crafts policy proposals to reduce greenhouse gas pollution and ensure our communities are resilient to the impacts of climate change.

In her written testimony, Rep. Stevens discussed her support for greater production of domestically-built electric vehicles, sustainable manufacturing processes, and clean energy tax credits.

Haley Stevens (MI-11) voted to pass a continuing resolution to extend government funding through December 20th, keeping the government open, providing much-needed budget certainty, and ensuring funding for critical budget priorities. WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) voted to pass H.R. 4863, a bill to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, increase its financing capacity, and reform and rename the agency. As the official U.S. export credit agency, the Export-Import Bank provides support to exporters and foreign purchasers of U.S. goods and services through direct loans, guarantees, and insurance. The bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support.
