James Kuhl, producing artistic director for Northville’s Tipping Point Theatre, said he’s beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel as vaccinations increase, but admitted the pandemic has posed as a big challenge to the theatre and many other live performance venues and cultural institutions across Michigan that have yet to reopen.

News of Carl Levin’s death spread fast across Michigan with friends, colleagues, and even some political foes paying their respects to one of Michigan’s iconic public servants.

On Thursday, Levin, a Detroit native and Michigan’s longest-serving U.S. senator, died following a four-year battle with lung cancer that he made public in March. He was 87 years old.

On Thursday, U.S. Reps. Haley Stevens (MI-11) and August Pfluger (TX-11 ) held a press conference Thursday with family members of Paul Whelan, a Michigan native, and Trevor Reed, a Texas native, as well as members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Washington, DC– Today, Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) introduced the Increasing Developing Entrepreneurship Access (IDEA) Act of 2021. This legislation will create a grant program to develop a network of business accelerators that promote growth for minority-owned businesses through enhanced access to capital, business networks, and supply chains.

Peter Meijer (R-MI), introduced bipartisan legislation that would create a new expansion grant pilot program for the Hollins Manufacturing Extension Partnership program and help MEP centers cut through bureaucratic red tape by allowing them to choose how best to use federal funds.
